Description
After finishing his meal of plants, this North American beaver rests on a partially submerged log for a few minutes before sliding back into the water and on to his next task. (More food? Work on the dam? What it would be I don’t know.)
Hard to imagine that sitting in ice water would be relaxing, but their fur has two layers, with the inner one having a oily substance that makes it waterproof and keeps their skin dry in the water. He is quite comfortable, despite appearances!
The Beaver Marsh is part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio on land reclaimed from industrial use and allowed to return to nature.
