Description
A Midland Painted Turtle suns itself on a small log in the Beaver Dam area of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. These small (4 to 10 inch) turtles are the most widespread turtle species in the US, and have been around for 15 million years. Adults in the wild can live for more than 55 years.
