This is a terrific photograph, Dennis --tack sharp and wonderfully developed. The bars of the cage, rather than detracting from the image, actually enhance it. l/f

Artist's Description

A Blue-and-Yellow Macaw interacts with the public only through the iron bars of his cage.

“Some birds are not meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild. So you let them go, or when you open the cage to feed them they somehow fly out past you. And the part of you that knows it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices, but still, the place where you live is that much more drab and empty for their departure.”

About Dennis Lundell

Dennis Lundell

Hello and welcome to my imagination! My interest in computers started back in college in the days of punch cards and led me to a career in engineering. My passion for photography started with film cameras and a portrait that earned a blue ribbon at the county fair. Now, after a 42 year career designing machines in the U.S. Midwest, I am putting my artistic side first and trading patents for pixels, ergonomics for aesthetics and practicality for pleasure. Please browse through my work and hopefully you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!
